The Groton Channel is the Public and Educational Access Television Channel for the Town of Groton, Massachusetts.  We offer free equipment, training and assistance to any citizen of the town of Groton, MA who wishes to produce video programming for airing on the Groton Channel.  We also  broadcast pre-produced programming submitted by citizens of the town as long as it meets certain criteria and the appropriate paperwork is signed.

Our programming is available through local cable television providers Charter and Verizon but is not broadcast over-the-air.  The Groton Channel programming can be seen on
Charter Channel 191 and Verizon Channel 40.  The Town Government programming is available  on 
 Charter Channel 192 and Verizon Channel 41.

Studio Location

Our Studio is located in the lower level of the Groton Dunstable Regional High School, 703 Chicopee Row, Groton, MA, 01450

Please Note:  since our  studio is located in the GDRHS building you must enter through the main school entrance and sign-in during school hours for security reasons.

Bob Colman, Program Director

Bob has been with the Groton Channel for over ten years, and has over twenty-five years experience in film and television. Bob graduated from college with an English degree, and later earned a Master's degree in Film Production from Boston University. He produced and directed the independent film, "Follow the Broccoli," and has worked on numerous productions of various scales, usually in the lighting department. Bob got his start in cable access as a volunteer in Needham, MA where he grew up. He later went on to produce their weekly news program before coming here to Groton.

Ashley Doucette, Production Technician

Ashley graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School with a degree in Professional Stage Management.  Since returning from England, she has begun to pursue film and television. She has been with the Groton Channel since April of 2016,  but has participated in numerous shows and film projects with the studio in the past. 

Noah Paulajka, Production assistant

Noah graduated from Fitchburg State University where he majored in Communications media with a concentration in film.  Since earning his bachelor’s degree he has pursued his love of filmmaking and acting with various projects that include freelance videography and production assistant work on web series, music videos, and feature films.  In December of 2016 he returned to The Groton Channel where he had volunteered while attending high school at GDRHS.

Governance

The Groton Channel is overseen by the Groton Cable Committee and is funded entirely through the contracts with the two Cable TV companies in Groton: Charter and Verizon.
