Cable Advisory Committee

The Groton Channel is administered by the Cable Advisory Committee, which was formed in 1983 to assist in the licensing process for the station.  Since then, its work has been to manage local resources and regulation changes.  Other committee functions include:

• administering local origination programming resources
• interfacing with the Massachusetts Cable Television Commission
• monitoring compliance with license and applicable laws
• serving as liaison between Groton consumers and the local service provider acting for the Selectmen, runs the formal selection process for a licensee, initial as well as renewal each 15 years, and writes all applicable documents (license(s), etc.)
